Responsibilities for HSE Manager


The HSE Manager will be responsible for developing and maintaining a strong safety culture, and maintaining compliance with all relevant health, safety, environmental, and DOT regulations. The HSE Manager regularly interacts with operational managers towards the successful integration of safety into their daily operations with the goal of protecting our employees and continuously improving. Responsibilities:
•	Supports the Top Management in the HSE Policy and Guidelines issue. 
•	Ensures, in accordance with the Corporate guidelines, the implementation, updating, review and auditing of the Company HSE Systems. 
•	Monitors the effective implementation of appropriate Safety and Environment System procedures and provide for their updating in line with changes in Legislation and Company Directives. 
•	Provides for motivation and familiarization of all Company personnel respecting the importance of complying with Company system procedures and all Safety equipment provided. 
•	Assists the Commercial, Engineering and Operations Department in their dealings with Clients in all issues concerned with Health and Safety at work. 
•	Conducts safety audits both internal and external. 
•	Provides technical support to Senior Management on any safety related subjects. 
•	Carries out any in-house safety training. 
•	Carries out safety audits on Sub-contractors. 
•	Liaises between Clients on safety related issues. 
•	Safeties related engineering input into new projects and modification programs. 
•	Performs Risk Assessment. 
•	Preparation of Health and Safety documentation for new tenders. 
•	Provides Safety support and advice, including supervision on preparation of plans and procedures for initial contract start up activities. 
•	Maintain all recordkeeping and conduct activities necessary for environmental compliance
•	Takes part in accident / incident investigation. 
•	Carries out analysis of accident / incident statistics, identifying trends and suggesting improvement plans. 
•	Conduct and complete Injury and Illness report with injured team member, Area Coordinator/Supervisor and Team Leader or Manager after completing thorough accident investigation.
•	Ensure post-accident drug screens are completed as required.
•	Call in, fax or e-mail First Report of Injury to HR and Workers Comp Provider within 24-hours of accident, or sooner.
•	Administer the workers’ compensation program, which includes working with the company’s insurance carrier to reduce lost time and fraudulent claims, case management and communications with team members.  
•	Complete and maintain OSHA 300 Log record keeping and all other required filings.
•	Develop and conduct required OSHA training programs on plant work practices, safety precautions and procedures as required.
•	Safety and Health Manual requires annual review and updating, ensuring procedures are consistent with written programs. Make necessary changes as needed and keep team informed.
•	Maintain team member records for all completed safety training.
•	Develop and conduct safety training as required by State and Federal law, regulations, etc.
•	Manage compliance websites including but not limited to: ISNET, Team Alert, NCMS, etc.

REQUIREMENTS
•Bachelor Degree in Science/Engineering or equivalent with additional professional qualifications in HSE and Fire & Safety Management Systems. 
•5 or above years’ experience in Health, Safety and Environment 
•Working knowledge in Health, Safety and Environment Management Systems.
•Experience maintaining compliance with all state and federal regulations.
